December 2019. A group of friends drove home from Durban in two cars. At 02:10, near Harrismith, a white Polo hit and killed Lwazi Dube, 23, walking home from a night shift with bread for the morning. One of the group pleaded guilty, and the case was closed.
Seven years later the host invites everyone back to the same table for a dinner they call the Apology Toast. Glasses are raised. The host swaps glasses with an old friend, drinks, and falls.
