Case file: how to play

You buy the game, invite your guests and put the board on the TV. The game does the rest: characters, the secret killer, the rounds and the evidence.

A phone for every player

Any modern phone with a browser. Nothing to install.

A TV or laptop

For the shared board. Cast a browser tab or plug in a laptop. Optional, but it makes the night.

Wi-Fi

Everyone's phone talks to the game throughout.

Food and drink

It's a dinner party. Plan for 90 minutes to two and a half hours.

On the night

  1. Buy the game

    It lands in your inbox straight away, and it's yours for good.

  2. Invite the suspects

    Send the invitation, pick a date and tell everyone to bring a charged phone.

  3. Set the table

    Dinner, drinks and a TV or laptop for the board. Dress up if you like.

  4. Start the case

    Open the game, put the board on the TV and let everyone join.

  5. Play three rounds

    Question each other, search the house, test the evidence.

  6. Name the killer

    Lock in your accusation, watch the reveal and crown the winners.

Each round opens with new evidence on the TV. Then questions go round the table, and there's free time to search the house, test things at the lab and ask anyone anything. After the third round everyone locks in who did it, how, and who the poison was really meant for.
